Analysis paralysis occurs when too many choices leave us unable to decide. Even after making a choice, research shows that having more options often leads to more regret, not less.

In The Paradox of Choice, Barry Schwartz suggests a simple solution:

1) Identify your key criteria.

2) Choose the first option that meets them.

“Good enough” is almost always good enough—and far better than endless indecision.

To improve focus, eliminate distractions—whether physical, environmental, or digital.

One effective hack: limit phone notifications to what truly matters. Ask yourself, do I really need to know instantly about every email or social media interaction?

Disabling non-essential alerts not only reduces interruptions but also trains your brain to resist subsequent distractions. This alone strengthens your ability to focus by an immediately noticeable behavior shift.
